Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants
- Micheal Pollan
The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Branch is sponsoring the 2nd phase of "Take Action!", a 10 week employee wellness program developed by the Network for a Healthy California. This program encourages positive changes in employee health by tracking fruits and vegetable consumption. "Take Action!" encourages personal goal-setting for health and fitness as well as fostering teamwork and participation in some good-natured competition. Teams are organized by workplace, with participants tracking the number of cups of fruits and vegetables they eat each day. Most adults should be eating 4-6 cups produce per day, depending on gender, age and activity level. This includes fresh, frozen, canned and dried. Everything counts!
